after a reboot mplayer does not play any sound. this is what mplayer says:

in chromium flash isn't able to play videos with sound. in fact there's absolutely no sound working.

cmus doesnt play any sound even. this is what cmus says:
Error: opening audio device: Success
this might be bug not directly pointed to roaraudio....

please provide mplayer config file.

the mentioned mplayer message was produced due to calling mplayer without roarify. calling it with roarify produces the following output:
mplayer: relocation error: mplayer: symbol pa_threaded_mainloop_new, version PULSE_0 not defined in file libpulse.so.0 with link time reference
